Generative AI has made it cheap to produce convincing information and expensive to verify it. The Institute exists to close that gap.

We develop open tools and standards that help researchers, platforms, journalists, and the public assess the reliability of what they read, see, and hear.

Open by default. Our datasets, benchmarks, and code are released for public use.

Independent. We do not accept funding tied to research outcomes.

Reproducible. Every published result includes the methods needed to replicate it.

The Institute is funded by philanthropic partners and individual donors. A list of institutional supporters is available on request.
